Keisotsu Butai 2 Keisotsu Butai 2 Ref: IN280324
In Yu Jing society those of Japanese ethnic origin are considered second rate citizens. Apart from this, the Nipponese social subgroup is highly hierarchized so the members of their lower classes have a very poor standard of living. For these people the best way to move up the social scale is to serve in the StateEmpire Army. The army has regiments (Butai) consisting exclusively of Nipponese, both from the Japanese islands on the Earth, and from Kuraimori, in Shentang. The troops than make up these regiments are called Keisotsu, which in Japanese is a title of the greatest honour meaning Excellent soldier. However, the StateEmpire Army uses the Keisotsu Butai in the front line, where the action is always dangerous and the mortality rate very high. Although it hasn’t been confirmed by the Party, the figures for the average life expectancy of the Keisotsu recruits sent to a “hot” area are chillingly low.

The Minister of State for Defence of Yu Jing has eight armies spread throughout the territory. They are identified thanks to the characteristic standard that each one carries. For this reason these armies are known generically as Zhanshi Qizhi, Troops of the Standard. The Zhanshi are pillars of the army, the main general purpose troops. They participate in joint actions and in offensive operations like regular troops. They also make up the defensive garrisons of the cities and frontier posts. One of the Zhanshi characteristics is the importance that they give to hand to hand combat, much more so than any other regular army.

Ninjas do not exist. Ninja clans and families disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century, during the Mejii period. Ninjas were shadows with human form, masters of stealth, infiltration, disguise and many forms of killing, both armed and unarmed. The Imperial State cannot allow the Japanese to have a breed of sinister executioners unless, of course, they work for the State. The State doesn't recognise the existence of Ninjas. Rumours about highly skilled assassins that execute the darkest missions of the State are just that, rumours. A Ninja has never been caught alive...

The Shaolin Warrior Monks are practicing Zen Buddhists and are superb exponents of the martial arts. They train in the monastery with the disadvantage that they are not very good at using firing weapons, but in hand to hand combat they are unbeatable. The severe discipline and the rigourous training they undergo in the temple has made them into instinctive fighters, being both fast and lethal. The army of Yu Jing uses the Shaolin as light assault troops and as the starting point to launch their attacks to breakthrough and rout the enemy formations, a task they do with exquisite mortal beauty.

After doing a short prison stretch she joined Special Operations, and from then on her drive and ability has made her a legend among the Tiger Soldiers. The physical appearance of Ko Dali is perfect for undercover operations, because she doesn’t look like a military commando. Her beautiful physique, her voice, soft and purring, and her feline movements, languid but alert, remind you of a tigress, her totemic animal. But her combat style, fast and dirty, is a characteristic of the Military Intelligence agents that have served in dangerous and foul destinations

Sun Tze Sun Tze Ref: IN280316
The Project “Advisor” was Yu Jing’s answer to Project “Orleans Maiden”. Yu Jing’s High Command requested ALEPH recreate a military strategist, a less notorious persona that functioned as a power behind the throne, creating victories without receiving too much publicity. The character of Sun Tze seemed the most appropriate, as much for his qualities as for his cultural affinity. The recreation of his personality was completed with a military background from Yu Jing schools of strategy, preparing him for modern warfare. Sun Tze is a natural born strategist, with an extraordinary vision of the future. His intense military talent is reflected in all his decisions. He possesses a sharp computer mind with which he can imagine and devise hundreds of plans and contingencies in an instant, which makes him a vital element in any operation. He is an experienced soldier and has great perspicacity and all the leadership qualities that could be required.

Daofei Daofei Ref: IN280317
The Dàof?i are Heavy Infantry specialized in infiltration and survival in hostile environments. The Tactical Reconaissance Section of the Invincible Army combines instruction in infiltration techniques with that of Heavy Infantry combat. The Dàof?i Units receive their name (Bandits) because of the graduation trial they have to pass in the State Scouts School. This trial consists of leaving them without food or weapons for two months in the inhospitable lands of Dailing, where they must survive by competing with poachers, bandits, smugglers, fugitives and the zone’s police force that treats the Dàof?i even worse than the above-mentioned thugs. In order to survive in this territory it is necessary that they devote themselves to robbing and pillaging, which besides alarming the police, attracts local professionals who are not ready to share their territory with any foreign arriviste. This is the point where the trial gets complicated and people start to die.

Zhanshi Yisheng Zhanshi Yisheng Ref: IN280318
The Y?sh?ngs (doctors) of the Yu Jing Army receive military training just like any other Zhanshi. The High Command of the Yu Jing armed forces requires specialists who are able to perform at the frontline, even in advanced positions. In this way they can avoid having to move the injured to the rearguard to be looked after, thus optimising the rate of their recovery. The philosophy behind the training of the Y?sh?ngs is that because their work is carried out at the frontline, under crossfire, they need to be as cool headed as possible. In combat situations, the Y?sh?ng become the lifesavers of their unit as they are always on hand and fully prepared for any eventuality.

Wu Ming Wu Ming Ref: IN280319
One’s name is everything for any citizen of Yu Jing. It represents not only oneself, but one’s parents, family and even the village of one’s birth. The worst and most insulting curse that can be uttered in Yu Jing culture is equivalent to saying “May your name go to shit”. For this reason, one of the most degrading punishments consists in the official denial of your name. The Wu Míng Assault Corps is a penal military regiment. Its members have no name and this has been substituted by a serial number. The regiment comprises the most dangerous and most violent elements of the Yu Jing regular forces, authentic gallows fodder. With a localization device implanted under the skin of their faces, the Wu Míng live under a regime of supervised liberty. To add to their ignominy the circuitry of the implant forms the ideogram of the Wu Míng, plainly recognizable at a glance.

Mech Engineer Mech Engineer Ref: IN280320
The Mech-Engineers (G?ngchéngs) provide technical assistance to the Mechanized Infantry sections of the Yu Jing Army. They have all passed through the Banner Troops, receiving combat training as well as preparation as infantry sappers. The central body of their training is composed of instruction in military engineering and electronics, with specialized preparation in recomposition, repair and maintenance of armour plating and servo-powered systems. The Mech-Engineers function is to look after the machines, armour, arms and high-tech equipment which is in daily use by the Yu Jing armed forces. As they are usually required to carry out their work under battle conditions, amidst the smoke and, at times, in the dark of night, their holographic/optical visors incorporate an improved filter which intensifies the available ambient light, enabling them to work in conditions of low visibility.
